DENVER - President Bush will be visiting Denver Friday to campaign for congressional candidate Bob Beauprez.

Bush will be speaking at a $1,000 per plate fundraiser at the Adam’s Mark Hotel downtown. He is scheduled to arrive at Buckley Air Force base around mid-morning. Anyone traveling downtown around lunchtime should be prepared for some traffic, since some streets will be temporarily blocked off for the president’s motorcade.

The president’s visit will be marked by protests. Demonstrators say they will peacefully protest the president’s Iraq policies in front of the Adam's Mark.

“I strongly hope and pray that the innocent life of the Iraqis will not be put in jeopardy and the American people will not be put through the indignity of losing their loved ones simply because we need votes,” said Ibrahim Kazerooni, Colorado Against War in Iraq.

The group believes stable change in Iraq will only take place if Iraqis themselves work to change the regime.

After lunch, President Bush immediately heads to Arizona for another fundraiser.
