In light of the recent racial profiling incident at the Aurora Circuit City store, CCMEP proposes the following agreement:

At 3pm, Saturday, October 20th, a representative from Circuit City will be at the Aurora Circuit City to agree to the following:

• Immediately, Circuit City will issue a formal public apology stating that Circuit City welcomes all shoppers and will never condemn a shopper for his or her race again. In addition to telling this to any assembled media present, this apology will be done in the form of an advertisement in either or both the Rocky Mountain News and The Denver Post. The ad apology should mention the incident and explain that measures have been taken to ensure that this will not happen in any Circuit City store.

• Within 30 days the Aurora Circuit City will provide diversity training for its staff. This should be from a reputable trainer (CCMEP can provide local people that can assist in the training) and should include a section on recent events and the dangers in racial profiling.

• Additionally, Circuit City will let CCMEP know the date for this training, to be conducted within the next 30 days, within one week (by Oct. 27th) (Or you can let CCMEP know on Saturday, Oct. 20th).

In exchange for this CCMEP agrees to not picket, protest, boycott nor call on others to boycott Circuit City.

CCMEP representatives will fully communicate this agreement to its members and allies and to the media.
