2nd Nat'l Organizing Conference on Iraq
Feb. 17-18th, 2001 * Denver, Colorado
From Bombs to Sanctions
The U.S. War Against
Iraq
1990-2001
The U.S. has maintained 10 years of bombs and sanctions against Iraq that have killed well over one million people. = All in our name. = Historically when activists have formed broad and active coalitions there has been measurable impact. The union movement of the 1930s, the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s, and the anti-Vietnam war movement of the 60s and 70s. = Continuing on with this legacy, the 2nd National Organizing Conference on Iraq brought together a diverse group of organizations committed to ending the sanctions. = THE FOCUS IS SIMPLE: FORM A NATIONAL NETWORK AND BEGIN BETTER COORDINATING NATIONAL CAMPAIGNS AND ACTIONS. = For the sake of the people of Iraq and for the sake of our democracy, let's make it happen!
