Principles of Unity (adopted 11/19/01)
1. We commit to building a better world based on social, economic, and environmental justice.
2. We oppose economic sanctions and military actions as a response to the events of September 11th.
3. We oppose economic sanctions and military actions against Iraq.
4. We oppose U.S. support for the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine.
5. We recognize the historic failure of the peace movement to work with communities of color. We commit ourselves to building a larger, stronger, more effective anti-war movement.
6. We defend our human and civil rights
7. We act to end racism, racial profiling and racist attacks.
8. Organizations or individuals representing or participating in CCMEP (or new coalition name) will respect the decision-making process.
9. CCMEP (or new coalition name) will set goals for actions and abide by the decision-making process to choose effective tactics to achieve these goals.
