Colorado
Delegates arrive in the West BankHello! We arrived in Jerusalem last
night and spent the night at the Austrian Hospice which was built in 1857. The
Colorado and Boston groups are now one. Ben, Blake, Adam, and I are spending
one more night in the Old City (East Jerusalem in Palestine) before we leave
for Yanoun in the morning. We will be entertaining the youth of the village
(baseballs, tennis balls, hackeysacks, and various other games). The villagers
are excited for our arrival. The mayor of the town keeps a log of every
international that arrives and considers them all to be his friends. This is
just one example of Palestinian hospitality. We plan on staying at the village
until the end of the week when Blake and I are to receive the ISM training
needed to participate in direct actions on the 11th and 12th. The place of
training is unsure yet Ramallah or Bethlehem seem to be slated.
We will spend the afternoon exploring the Old City (including the Wailing
Wall, Aunt Heidi, where I will complete the mission you assigned me) and we
will spend the night at the Golden Gate Hostel.
Nick and Paul as well as two members of the Boston group are heading to Nablus
while another faction of the group is heading for Jayus. All towns are in
relative proximity to each other.
We will not have email access while in Yanoun but I will be in contact at
least before we leave tomorrow and maybe later tonight.
I have purchased my cell phone and recommend for you to call me as it will
waste more minutes faster if I were to call. Remember: We are 9 hours in the
future from you guys. Ha! Phone conversations need to be short as conservation
is key.
Here are the Colorado delegates' phone numbers: Erich 055-421-063
Nick 067-278-105
Paul 066-356-248
Blake 055-420-643
I'm not quite sure but to phone us you should dial 011 972 first and then dial
the numbers. If you have any questions I'm sure an operator could help out.
