Coloradan Arrested with Ten Internationals by Israeli Army Inside Nativity Church

International Activist Forced out of Church of Nativity

Bethlehem—Larry Hales, a Denver resident, was among 10 internationals arrested today in Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity. The group risked their lives last week to bring food and medical supplies to the priests, monks, and Palestinian civilians who have been held inside the church since the latest invasion over a month ago.

At 2:40 PM, the IDF stormed the church and arrested the internationals. According to eyewitnesses, the forced removal of the internationals by the Israeli military and police forces was carried out with church officials in attendance.

The women have been separated from the men, and are now at an Israeli prison in Ramle, awaiting deportation. The men are enroute to the same prison. The internationals have not had access to their lawyer, and all are protesting the impending deportation.
